A human ceases to be a human if he/she tries to find beauty and god in the very act of slavery and cruelty

Music, dance, poetry, food, Yuvadasara and much more to entertain people during Mysore dasara(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mysore_Dasara), nice way of exhibiting culture and talent, why you still need 'Jumboo savari'? what kind of entertainment is that? cheap and inhuman.

An enslaved elephant(elephant is considered as a god in Hindu mythology) carrying a golden howdah( weighs 750 kg and contains goddess 'Chamundi' inside it) and walking on the main streets for 2-3 hrs in hot sun.

Millons of ppl watch it and it seems they feel divine, they are happy that they are continuing old tradition and goddess will bless them, Its fine if they still burden themselves with beliefs and insane practices(to me it is insane, they should discard certain old practices, if you want your goddess to tour around the city, use a motor vehicle or  people should pull it and take) but why are you burdening those innocent elephants? what kind of divine feeling you experience watching this? respect the freedom that living elephant has, Your goddess carried by elephant has no life, come on it is made of gold!

How can you justify this act ? people are deceiving themselves, you cannot hide the reality in the name of tradition,in fact people who don't know the reality follow traditions without even thinking whether it is necessary at the present time or not, also you are influencing your children by glorifying this act.

A Human ceases to be a human if he/she tries to find beauty and god in the very act of slavery and cruelty.
Feed them, take care of them, watch them playing in the forest, but why do you want use them for this act?  It doesn't matter if you decorate them with ornaments and tattoos or not, this act is not different from a typical circus act.

Its better if you call this a circus(divine circus), at least stop deceiving your children.

PS: Female elephants accompany the male elephant which carries the goddess 'Chamundi' so that he remains calm.

Wherever bliss is, God is

Osho! I love him, listening to him is always a pleasure :-)

Few lines from
his book "The book of wisdom":
The intelligent person is rebellious. Intelligence is rebellion. The intelligent person decides on his own whether to say no or yes. The intelligent person cannot be traditional, he cannot go on worshiping the past; there is nothing to worship in the past. The intelligent person wants to create a future, wants to live in the present. His living in the present is his way of creating the future.
The intelligent person does not cling to the dead past, does not carry corpses. Howsoever beautiful they have been, howsoever precious, he does not carry the corpses. He is finished with the past; it is gone, and it is gone forever.

But the foolish person is traditional. He is ready to follow the priest, ready to follow any stupid politician, ready to follow any order -- anybody with authority and he is ready to fall at his feet. Without intelligence there can be no happiness. Man can only be happy if he is intelligent, utterly intelligent. Meditation is a device to release your intelligence. The more meditative you become, the more intelligent you become. But remember, by intelligence I don't mean intellectuality. Intellectuality is part of stupidity.

Everlasting smile and calmness; How can you not love this face?
Intelligence is a totally different phenomenon, it has nothing to do with the head. Intelligence is something that comes from your very center. It wells up in you, and with it many things start growing in you. You become happy, you become creative, you become rebellious, you become adventurous, you start loving insecurity, you start moving into the unknown. You start living dangerously, because that is the only way to live.

To be a sannyasin means to decide that "I will live my life intelligently," that "I will not be just an imitator," that "I will live within my own being, I will not be directed and commanded from without," that "I will risk all to be myself, but I will not be part of a mob psychology," that "I will walk alone," that "I will find my own path," that "I will make my own path in the world of truth." Just by walking into the unknown you create the path. The path is not already there; just by walking, you create it.

For stupid people there are superhighways where crowds move. And for centuries and centuries they have been moving -- and going nowhere, going in circles. Then you have the comfort that you are with many people, you are not alone. Intelligence gives you the courage to be alone, and intelligence gives you the vision to be creative. A great urge, a great hunger arises to be creative. And only then, as a consequence, you can be happy, you can be blissful.

Wherever bliss is, God is. Whenever you see a blissful person, respect him/her, he/she is holy. And wherever you feel a gathering which is blissful, festive, think of it as a sacred place.

Aggression should have been the weapon against slavery

Whatever stands against the freedom must be set aside, be it ritual or superstition or limitation in any form(from the book "Jonathan livingston seagull").

I believe that freedom is wrestled and you have to snatch it, it is not by fasting or compromising(at least not against the people who had enslaved us)

I used to wonder that how we got freedom by following truth and non violence(fasting), I used to laugh silently when my history teacher used to explain this principle of Gandhiji with pride. Seeing the current situation of India(65 years of self rule), I understand the blunder we did by following his principle, we had missed the last chance to rise and prosper.

I don't feel that Gandhiji was a serious threat to British, but he screwed up Indian minds, we wanted someone who could have initiated aggression and changed the old Indian minds, instead of making us warriors he made us powerless.

Did we save lives?? nope, many people were killed during partition and still we are fighting with our own people(Pakistan). I dono exactly about the situation at that time, but it was still worth to fight than fasting (he never died during fasting, someone used to go and convince him). Its insane to beg for freedom like that, he screwed up the freedom movement.

Leadership of Gandhiji reminds me of what Alexander has said  "I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion" being a warrior Alexander knew how to fight.
Well, I'm not degrading "The sheep", but it is something to do with Work Specialization.I admire this man and his simplicity(although it used to be extreme sometimes), he could have become just a social worker than trying to become a freedom fighter.

We had many lions in India, like S.C Bose;
"Give me blood and I will give you freedom", he knew exactly what to do, manly way of fighting against slavery. I feel India would have been in a much better situation if we had fought against British under the leadership of S.C. Bose. Now it is not worth to give blood, its better not to talk about current India.

Development is not just concerned with our army, economy, education and constitution(we know how laws are ignored in India); We really need a matured society, I believe that the day our nation gives complete freedom for women(from everything including marriage and not just in the form of law) we are heading towards real development.
Not in my life time for sure:-)

Happy Independence day!!!
